PhotoBox is a phpWebSite module that displays a block with a thumbnail and description of a random, non-hidden, photo from a site's photo albums. The image links back to the associated photo. PhotoBox incorporates a control panel that allows an admin to change a variety of settings. Screen shots, below, show sample displays and control panel settings.
PhotoBox 0.2.4, released 23 March 2005, adds options to show/hide the display block, use AbumView instead PhotoAlbum to display photos/albums and adds the ability to restrict viewing to registered users. The zip file can be downloaded here - photobox-0.2.4.zip
PhotoBox 0.2.3 was released 1 November 2004. It added the option to display the newest photo from selected photo albums, rather than a random photo. You might have a photo block titled, "Most Recent Listing" or "Latest Photo". Another idea is to use this feature for a (pseudo) webcam or daily update - I.e. "Today's Conditions". The zip file can be downloaded here - photobox-0.2.3.zip
PhotoBox 0.2.3 was updated 8 November 2004 to be XHTML 1.0 Transitional compliant.

Installation
If you have a previous version of photobox, Note your settings in the PhotoBox Control Panel - if you wish to save/restore them. Use "Boost" to uninstall. Remove/delete the photobox directory in the mod directory, extract/unzip photobox-0.2.4.zip to your mod directory. You should end up with a mod/photobox directory. Use "Boost" to install...
This version defaults to displaying a block on the home page and photobox control panel page. This allows for immediate feedback when changing control panel settings. The default block location is in the right column - move if needed by using Layout Admin.
NOTE: If you should want the block to show up on all pages, or with selected modules, you can do the following: Go into Control Panel => Developer => ModuleMaker, choose photobox and "Edit Module". If you are a developer, you could also change the "allow_view" array in boost.php.
